It was back then in the first week
of my industrial training where I felt happy because the company has accepted
my request and offered me to be part of their company. First day of work, our
group which consist me myself and few of my friends together gets a brief by
our supervisor about the company’s background. Apart from learning about them,
we ourselves have to introduce our backgrounds to all of their employees in the
office or other scientific name known as "ice breaking". After a few
sessions, the serious part starts which is work. They taught me what to do, to
whom I should refer to when encountering any matters that I don’t know about
it, it all came after the ice breaking where I had a moment to learn all those
important things.
Among all the task I’ve been
assigned, all the works that has was done is a part of a project which is under
the company of MARA and Formis. On the next day, it came to the serious part
when I was brought to ‘Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi MARA’ (KKTM) which is located in
Petaling Jaya to learn how to install a computer and configure it right after
the installation. After a long day, a total of 20 computers managed to be
converted from old to a new computer.
From the first day of work, I was
guided from sections to another until I had managed to do the task on my own
without having a supervisor observing me. Without a doubt, when comes to an
expensive things, I have to be careful for me not to bring any kind of problems
and damages to this computer or to the company. Every each of my tasks is done
with care and effort at the same time. Each contract has its own period for us
to configure all those computers before the due date arrives which in this
case, my team had been tell that for one month is filled with computer
installation contract in every zone and zone district with the state until next
month at MARA building in Kuala Lumpur (Headquarters).
The next task of installation
occurred at MARA Gombak and Kajang district, but this time we were divided into
two groups with one at Gombak and another is at Kajang. After completing with
these two districts, we headed to MARA located at Negeri Wilayah. On this task,
a total of 40 computers were installed.
Second
week of internship, after returning from completing the installation at MARA
Negeri Wilayah, we head back to the office and few of UniKL students came in
for internship just like us. They were introduced by our staff and we have been
told that they are here for training in 4 months period. Due to the arrival of
new interns, we were divided into groups and some of us were appointed as a
leader. The next day, we were all given instructions again to split into two
groups and headed to Shah Alam and Puduraya for some installations.
This is a part which sounds interesting
as my team were assigned a task that is out of the state located at Seremban.
For me it’s an advantage to work not just around the Selangor and KL but out of
state as well. The reason why is that I love to travel and sightseeing,
observes other kinds of culture as well as their places. For this assignment,
we had to configure an amount of 45 computers. This time, it was different as
we had to commute from KL to Seremban for exactly 3 days. This is due to a
problem which occurred because of their employee’s carelessness that are not
prepared in advance for any data backup and internet problems. Next is just
around the corner which we had to settle our task at Rembau and a total of 20
computers were given a setup. After Negeri Sembilan, we headed North for works
involving few places such as Pejabat Mara Kulim, Kuala Nerang, Kedah and Pejabat
Mara Taiping, Perak.
After quite a few weeks of
installation and doing nothing, we got orders from superiors that a new task
awaiting but this kind of task needs a high level of focus, mental and
physical. The next task is to complete an amount of 1280, the highest ever for
us. In this case, our team needed a support and were given by the superior in a
form of 7 part timers giving us a hand to get this job done. A total of 15
people including our team managed to get the job done. Week to week we thrive
to setup all the computers and finally it came to an end. It was quite an
experience but with a teamwork, discipline, and patience, all is done on that
final day.
At Pintasan, many things were
learnt there. Ups and downs, problems, damages, but all my team and I worked
together and manage to meet all the challenges that came to us. From bitterness
to sweet memories, all that matters for me in the future so that all those
obstacles that lies ahead, it would be an easy thing for me. Praises inspires,
criticism improves us.
